Why a drop point
The default hunting and EDC shape, and the safest general answer. The spine curves down to the tip in a convex line, which keeps the point low and strong and leaves plenty of belly for skinning. It is hard to make a drop point bad at anything.

How do I keep the 1075 blade from rusting?
Dry it fully after use and oil the edge. One knife user wipes a drop of household 3-in-1 oil on the edge after every use and carries an eyedropper of it outdoors, and a Bushlore owner says that is exactly how they maintain theirs.
Can I get a different sheath for the Bushlore?
One first-time owner who wanted canted carry instead of the vertical stock sheath was told Condor's Aqua Lore comes with a Kydex sheath that might fit (though not for certain), that searching for Bushlore Kydex sheaths turns up many options, and to try Patriot Leather.
What do owners upgrade to from the Bushlore?
