Bark River Gunny
DiscontinuedBark River no longer makes this knife in this configuration. See Bark River’s current knives.
The smaller, more carryable Bark River against the Bravo 1: 3.78" of blade rather than 4.25", and CPM-3V instead of A2. Same convex grind, which is the whole reason people buy Bark River -- it is stronger behind the edge than a flat grind at the same thickness and it strops back to sharp without a stone.

Why a drop point
The default hunting and EDC shape, and the safest general answer. The spine curves down to the tip in a convex line, which keeps the point low and strong and leaves plenty of belly for skinning. It is hard to make a drop point bad at anything.
Every drop point here →About CPM-3V
The toughness champion. Chosen when a blade has to be batoned or pried and breaking is unacceptable. Keep it oiled.
1-5 is a relative ranking drawn from published composition and hardness, not a lab measurement. Higher is better on every axis, and no steel is a 5 across the board — edge retention and toughness pull against each other. All CPM-3V knives
