Benchmade Bailout 537BK-06
Benchmade's only Grivory-handled Bailout now pairs the 3.38" tanto with CPM-S30V instead of the CPM-3V used on the original 537. Weight, AXIS lock and handle shape carry over, at 2.05 oz. S30V gives up some toughness to 3V but resists rust better, a fair trade for a knife that lives in a pocket.

Why a tanto
A flat main edge meets an angled tip section at a distinct break. It concentrates force into a very strong point at the cost of almost all slicing belly — good for punching through hard material, poor for skinning.
Every tanto here →About CPM-S30V
The long-time American benchmark. Holds an edge far longer than 420HC and still sharpens on ordinary stones. Chippy if you pry with it.
1-5 is a relative ranking drawn from published composition and hardness, not a lab measurement. Higher is better on every axis, and no steel is a 5 across the board — edge retention and toughness pull against each other. All CPM-S30V knives
